In 2011, 32 of the most popular male stars from across the pond competed for the first annual Anglo Fan Favorites title. After five weeks of battling it out, a champion was named: revered British actor Alan Rickman, who routed Colin Firth in the final and towered over a field of younger, “hipper” upstarts.
Will the Rickmaniacs lift their icon to a second straight title? Or might Benedict Cumberbatch, David Tennant, Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith present a challenge for him? And now that we’ve opened up the competition to those outside the TV and movie world, can One Direction‘s mobilized fans carry their boys to victory?
Rules for this second annual tournament remain the same: in our quest to name the Anglophile fan favorite of 2012, we’re pitting 32 British (and a few Irishmen with London cred) against each other in an epic fan voting tournament.
Each week you’ll vote for winners in a set of matchups, whittling down the field until there is one man standing — the Champion.
This Summer of London is more than long jumps and high dives: when the dust settles THE Man of 2012 will be crowned. Shout from the rooftops, inspire your fellow fans, and most importantly VOTE! Round 1 voting ends Wednesday at 11 am ET.
